- Constitution Hill – He was extremely impressive in winning the Supreme this year breaking the track record in the process by a second! I was a massive fan of his beforehand, I backed him and tipped him up for my members before he bolted up. After his first win at Sandown, I was just like WOW! What was that! I am a big believer that your eyes are your best asset in picking a winner and people look too much into form of races and times of races rather than just watching the horse itself and how he visually looked. Hence, I didn’t care what others thought about Jonbon and Dysart Dynamo as I knew my eyes saw something special in him. If the time of a race backs up your eyes, then you’re onto one. Constitution Hill is likely to go for the Champion Hurdle next year at Cheltenham and could run against Honeysuckle at the Punchestown festival in a few weeks. I think he will win whoever he takes on and will be the horse to end Honeysuckle’s unbeaten streak.
2/1 – 2023 Champion Hurdle
- Vauban – Another horse I backed and tipped up for my members at Cheltenham in the Triumph. He won very easily and pulled away from two very good horses up the run in. He breezed to the front and finished very strongly, in the manner of a good one. I assume he will go Champion Hurdle too next year, but he will be going a different route to Constitution Hill, I think they are two very talented horses. He jumped the last badly and still managed to get himself together and go again, sign of a good one!
8/1 – 2023 Champion Hurdle
- The Nice Guy – He won the Albert Bartleet in very good fashion and did it very easily despite the race falling apart a bit. He had only one hurdles run before this, the last horse to win the Albert Bartleet after just one run, was Minella Indo! The Nice Guy will be aimed at the Brown Advisory Novice Chase next year at Cheltenham, the 3m Novice chase. I expect him to be tough horse to beat going forward as he has lots of untapped potential and just looked like he does everything so easily. He is a lazy horse at home according to the trainer, which I like as he saves his best for the track.
