Lucky 15 – Cheltenham Festival 2023

A Lucky 15 is a fantastic bet to have as it gives you multiple chances to get a return on your bet. It consists of 4 horses that you need to select and the bet consists of; 4 singles, 6 doubles, 4 trebles and 1 four fold. Here are my 4 selections for the Cheltenham Festival 2023 for a Lucky 15. I would recommend having a bet on these 4 horses now before the prices shorten!

My first selection is Chemical Energy in the National Hunt Chase at around 5/1. This horse for Gordon Elliot ticks a lot of boxes for this race and this race has been the plan for a long time now since he won over this course earlier on in the season. He seems a very progressive type and Gordon has followed the same successful route he used with Galvin a few years ago. If the current fav decides to go for the 3m novice chase, then Chemical Energy will surely half in price, so I think 5/1 is a very good each way price for a horse you know will have a top amateur jockey in Jamie Codd on board.

My second selection is Impaire Et Passe for the Ballymore at around 4/1. I think Willie Mullins will send him to this race instead of the Supreme as he will want to separate himself and Facile Vega from running against each other. He seems a very simple ride and has proven himself at the trip already. I think he will go off favourite on the day and 4/1 seems a very fair price for a horse I think could be a special one.

My 3rd selection for the Lucky 15 is Blood Destiny in the Triumph Hurdle at 5/1. He is currently 2nd favourite to Lossiemouth who looks very talented too but at the current prices I think Blood Destiny offers much more value than the fav. There is very little to split them on form currently and although Paul Townend will likely ride Lossiemouth, I think Danny Mullins will ride Blood Destiny and he is a good front running jockey around Cheltenham so this should be no hindrance and I think he will be a tough horse to peg back.

My final selection is my banker for the week, which is Marie’s Rock in the Mares Hurdle at 5/2. She seems to still be improving to me and has a very good record at Cheltenham. I think some of rivals will not turn up like Brandy Love and Honeysuckle and she is the mare going places in the line-up. Her win on New Year’s Day was very impressive and I think she will win this race for the second year running. Banker of the whole week for me!

I would back these 4 horses in an each way Lucky 15 as I can’t see any of them finishing outside of the placing assuming they end up in these races and don’t get any injuries. These horses put into an accumulator is around 350/1 currently. I can see all of these horses shortening in the market so would suggest having a bet on them now as I still see them as value bets.
